Man Found Dead In Stairwell On Long Island

A Long Island man who was found dead in a stairwell of an apparent homicide has been identified, police announced.

Police have identified the man found dead in a Hempstead apartment building stairwell as Marlon Rivas-Aguilar, age 53, of Freeport.

It happened on Saturday, Oct. 21 in Hempstead.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call to find 53-year-old Marlon Rivas-Aguilar bleeding and unresponsive in the stairwell of 45 Jackson Street.

Rivas-Aguilar, who is from Freeport, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel as a result of what appeared to be puncture wounds.

The investigation into the man’s alleged homicide is ongoing.
